Women with an hourglass body type are fortunate to have good proportion between their upper and lower bodies, with a distinctively narrow waist.
However, if you are an hourglass, you may find that you tend to gain weight all over your body, particularly in your hips and chest area. The hourglass body shape tend to have an endomorph or mesomorph body type.


Pear-shaped women frequently have large lower bodies with a smaller upper body. weight gain is usually problematic around the thighs and hips.
Pears usually have petite chests and flat stomachs.


Apples are usually larger on the upper half of their bodies as oppose to the the bottom half.

The male body shape is found by establishing the relationship of your hips, waist and chest. These proportions are influenced by a mixture of genetics and lifestyle factors.

Your body type is largely determined by genetics. You will probably share the same male body anatomy as someone who is closely related to you such as a mother or a father.

Because body type is a genetic trait, it will always be apart of you. However, with the right approach you can change your body type to start looking more like a different body type.

Very few males actually fall distinctly into one category. Instead, it is much more likely that you will be a combination of the body types. Common combinations include ecto-mesomorph and endo-mesomorph.

Medium build: In Ayurveda, Pitta is the name given to people with a medium build. People with medium builds have sharp intellects and tend to be ambitious and competitive. Pitta is responsible for digestion in the Ayurvedic system and therefore people with a medium build will tend to suffer digestion related illnesses like heartburn and colitis. They also tend to be naturally warm, so prefer cool weather and sports that are not overheating. Swimming would be a good choice for people with a medium build.
Heavy build: In Ayurveda, Kapha is the name given to people with a heavyset body type. Kapha is associated with the structure of the body and therefore with stability. Kapha people have strong constitutions and are known for being serene. They make wonderful loyal and warm friends. Kapha people need to make sure that they have enough variety and exercise in their lives because they are so laid back. Of all of the builds, they respond best to vigorous exercise.
